We recently interviewed Site Supervisor, Scott Lee who oversees the security program at Southwest General Hospital located in San Antonio, Texas. Scott has worked in the healthcare industry for 15 years and is also a Texas qualified Manager.
He and the team at Southwest are primarily responsible for the safety and security of the ER and Psychiatric ER. Officers stationed in these critical areas assist with the needs of both patients and healthcare staff. They help to control the safety of the environment by performing standbys when blood is being drawn, when medication is given and when patients are being moved. Officers are also responsible for general duties including the safety of patient’s valuables, maintaining patient’s safes, access control, special event coverage, and basic traffic control.
Having a uniformed Officer communicating and monitoring these challenging locations in a safe way helps ensure the nursing staff can concentrate on a patient’s needs. “Our team works incredibly hard to provide and maintain the best possible service to the south-side. We’re very proud to be part of a hospital and organization that is providing this type of service!” says Scott.
We thank the Southwest General Hospital team for all their hard work and dedication. You work hard every day to epitomize the PalAmerican Difference – keep up the great work!
