Being in Security for almost two decades, Lisa has worked her way through the ins and outs of the industry and gained invaluable experience along the way. She is currently a Site Lead at 5th and Craig Building for one of PalAmerican's best clients. Get to know Lisa on our latest Women in Security feature:
How long have you been in security & what drew you into the industry?
I have been in security for over 17 years. I entered this industry because I want to help with creating a safe atmosphere for clients and the public. Also, building positive relationships with the people I serve.
What unique traits do you feel women bring to security?
I feel that women bring compassion and stability to the field of security. This creates a safe environment to patrons and it reinforces our goal in security.
How do you maintain a healthy work-life balance?
Life and work balance is extremely important in this field as it can be demanding. I make sure that I have time for my family and enjoy some quality time with them. In addition, I love to work out and participate in fitness activities to keep my mind and body healthy.
What’s the best piece of advice that you’ve been given and you’d like to pass on to women following in your footsteps?
In order to be successful, practice self-care daily. While on the job, maintain good working relationships with those who you provide security services for, as well as your fellow security officers. Create a safe and inviting atmosphere, which will help create a conflict-free atmosphere. Also, don’t forget to be helpful and respectful to all.
