We are excited to share that we are growing our presence in Pittsburgh, PA, with the acquisition of Point Security. The deal merges two of Pittsburgh’s finest security firms and reinforces our commitment to providing reliable protection to the community.
Point Security was established in 1995 and was veteran-owned and operated. Dennis DiPerna, who is a Retired Colonel for the US Army, founded the company and led it from its inception. DiPerna has taken this opportunity to pass his business along to PalAmerican and retire after a long and successful career in the industry.
Point Security prides itself on developing and maintaining close, personal relationships with clients and employees, as well as timely, dependable service, all of which was what attracted PalAmerican to the firm.
“They share the same core beliefs and values that we do,” said Paul Moviel, National Director of Operations. “They also have long-term relationships with all of their clients, which is always a great start. Not to mention the staff has been working at the sites for many years.”
President Jason Begin agrees, adding Point’s depth of services, which ranges from security (both armed and unarmed guards) and security consulting, to healthcare, education, and government.
“We have admired Point Security’s approach to security as competitors and are excited to learn from their experiences. Their team is extremely talented and will be a welcomed addition to our PalAmerican Family,” Begin explained.
Healthcare Expertise
The acquisition bolsters PalAmerican’s presence in the Pittsburgh market and further strengthens our already robust capabilities in healthcare security. The expertise Point Security brings to PalAmerican in this field is second to none, which will continue with the help of manager Scott Gamble.
“With the acquisition, we gained Scott Gamble from Point Security who has a great background in healthcare and will lead our Pittsburgh office. Scott shares all of the values that we look for in a leader and has quickly built a relationship within the office,” Moviel added.
The continued growth and success of PalAmerican in the Pittsburgh market is due to our dedicated approach to customer service. Integrating the operations of Point Security with PalAmerican will give our current clients a wider range of expertise and a greater depth of resources in the Pittsburgh area.
We have dedicated ourselves to providing premier security services by partnering with strategic organizations and supporting our clients with tailored security programs. That, combined with this latest acquisition, propels PalAmerican toward our goal of becoming America’s leading contract security firm.
The acquisition took effect on December 31, 2020.
Growth across the United States
The merger means PalAmerican not only gains a company with a storied past but also grows our talented team of security professionals by over 100.
It’s PalAmerican’s third acquisition in the past few months. In November, Puget Sound Security in Seattle joined the PalAmerican Family, which included 240 employees who made the transition. The goal is to not only increase Seattle’s mobile footprint but also add additional resources across the entire state.
Meantime, 180 officers joined PalAmerican with the acquisition of SmartGuard Security Inc. in Sacramento, California. SmartGuard has a 44-year history in the Golden State and brings technological expertise to our company.
PalAmerican operates across America with regional offices in nine states, and if you’re interested in becoming part of our team, please visit our careers page.
